A sea kayak log book is your personal (and official) diary of the number and type of sea kayak trips and training courses that you have completed.
The log book contains detailed information about each journey such as duration, location and conditions as well as the details of the people you travelled with.
There are many valid reasons why you could or should keep a diary of the trips or courses you have done.
For some people, it will just be a record / memory of a day on the water in a sea kayak.
For others who may want to hire a kayak or complete a specific kayaking award or qualification, it is essential proof of your experience. This could include teachers, outdoor educators, scout leaders or people who just want to lead kayak trips at some future time.
