1 DAY SEA KAYAK ECO-TOUR

UNESCO GLOBAL GEOPARK

Bluff Island is 1 of the group that make up the spectacular outer islands of the UNESCO Global Geopark.

These islands feature the spectacular hexagonal columns created by the SUPER VOLCANO endorsed by UNESCO as globally unique!

WHAT TO EXPECT

Starting from our base in the Sai Kung East Country Park we paddle our sea kayaks south into the island formation we call “the outer islands” of the UNESCO Global Geopark.

Bluff Island is the largest of this group and features the spectacular columner sea cliffs that make the Geopark famous. These towering cliffs dominate the senses as you paddle underneath them. As the coastline here is very exposed to the large ocean swells, the water has sculpted sea arches, sea caves and many rocky beaches.

If the conditions are suitable we will circumnavigate the island stopping at a beautiful sandy beach for lunch and to hike to the peak. There is also a thriving coral reef where we will view the dynamic underwater world using snorkel & goggles.

The kayak route will be determined by the wind and tidal currents on the day. Your guide will select it to match the skills and experience of the paddlers with the conditions at the time.

We will be using stable and fast double sea kayaks, but a moderate level of fitness is required.

WHAT'S INCLUDED

Tung A to Bluff Island Route

We use double sea kayaks unless otherwise requested (single kayaks only for experienced paddlers). Doubles are faster and more stable making it easier for people to do the distances required per day.
This also includes sprayskirts, paddles & spare paddles, bouyancy vests, paddle floats, pumps and other safety equipment.

Our guides are seasoned professionals with international qualifications. Not only are they familiar with the regions in which they paddle, they are also fully trained in sea kayak rescues, first aid and emergency procedures.

We have waterproof cameras and will be taking photographs throughout the entire trip, which will be made freely available at the end.

This means that you will not need to risk your prescious equipment if it is not waterproof.
